Bishop Carol Phyllis (Hewitt) Lloyd was born
Bishop was baptized at the early age of 8 and
at the age of 28 (1969), she received the Holy Ghost and started her new life in
Christ.
Bishop Lloyd dropped out of school in the
10th grade, however, she went back to school in 1980 and completed her education
and received her GED high school diploma.
Bishop Lloyd continued to furthered her education in studies at

During her Thirty eight years at Gethsemane
Church of Christ, Bishop Lloyd worked in many areas, young people president,
missionary sec., vice pres., and pres., a deaconess, trustee board member,
Sunday school teacher, assistant superintendent and superintendent, pastor aide
president, Building fund, Treasurer, director and choir pres., musician, usher
president, young people counselor.
She accepts the great position and challenges to lead God’s people through His
name to victory.
In 1979, Bishop acknowledged and accepted her
calling to preach while at

She became pastor of Gethsemane Church of Christ and was ordained in July 1992.
She is the wife of William Lloyd Jr., and
from that union was born two daughters Mrs. Loretta Denise Ebron and Mrs.
Rolanda Venise Murphy. She also has
two stepchildren Mrs. Phyllis Duncan and Karsene Lloyd, her nephew Ja’maine P.
Hewitt, whom she raised as her son.
She has two son in-laws, two daughter in law, and eleven grandchildren.
Prior to becoming a full time Pastor at
Gethsemane Church of Christ in 1990, Bishop Lloyd worked for numerous companies,
Interstate Industrial Uniform for 12 years in the capacity of a supervisor,
Warnaco for 14 years,
Bishop Lloyd received many achievement awards
and citations for her great work in the community.
